ABB Switzerland seeks highly motivated and experienced Project Managers for Renewable Thermal Power Generation Projects, like Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) as well as geothermal and thermal desalination EPC/turnkey power generation plants. The company sharpens its focus on power generation from renewable energies. Successful candidates will be part of a dedicated competence center being established in Switzerland for thermal renewables with a main focus on concentrated solar power (CSP) projects to support ABB’s recent investment in Novatec Solar, a leading provider of patented Linear Fresnel technology. Tasks:
- Supports the Sales Manager and Tendering Manager during the tender phase
- Leads and manages the execution team:
- Single point of contact towards the customer (management and control of the correspondence)
- Reviews the contract and the customer specifications and requires resources from the relevant disciplines
- Leads and coordinates the assigned team
- Is responsible for the timely execution of the contract within the budget while considering applicable law, codes and standards
- Monitors and reports the timeline/schedule as well as budget vs. cost, estimates cost to complete
- Manages risks and opportunities
- Responsible for the scope, budget and schedule for the execution of contracts
- Management of the execution team assigned to the respective project
- Requests allocation of the required resources based on execution capacity requirements
- Leads and develops the assigned project team by means of clear business objectives as well as based on the ABB management principles
- Build-up, acquire and maintain the required excellence in executing TK Power Stations
- Executes EPC projects in a developing technical field on an international business
- Considers local law and standards
- Full time, cost and scope responsibility of the project to be executed
- Several travel and on-site activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline, MBA diploma or equivalent
- Proven success in Contract negotiations and proven skills in a leadership position
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager of turnkey projects, preferably in the power station business
- Very good command of English in writing and spoken, other languages as a plus
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong personal interest in new technologies and willingness to travel
