This is an exciting opportunity to bring a luxury InterContinental to market which is situated at the altitude of 1,600 meters above sea level, the InterContinental Hotel Davos is scheduled to open during the last quarter of 2013.
All 216 rooms including 23 suites feature balconies with stunning views over the mountain village and landscape of Davos located in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. For ultimate relaxation, a spa and wellness area of 1.600 sqm include pool, whirlpool, sauna, steam bath and treatment rooms- with equally breathtaking view of the surrounding alpine scenery.
The Training Manager will be responsible for managing the hotel’s training function, including developing a complement of qualified departmental trainers, establishing a hotel system for generating training data and evaluating results. The Training Manager position impacts on the skills, knowledge and attitudes of every hotel employee and ensures the availability and use of effective resources. The position also plays a leading role in promoting the desired work culture and values of the InterContinental Hotels Group and the brand ethos.
The main accountabilities for this role, will include analyzing training needs of the hotel in general and in individual departments, developing strategies and including them in the Training Business Plan. Preparing, tailoring and facilitating all levels of training programs from new employee orientation, customer service training, technical on the job skills based training, supervisory skills training, management development training and health and safety training.
Qualifications and Technical skills:
It is anticipated that the Training Manager will be able to demonstrate that they have designed and delivered training programs to entry level and/or supervisory level – any management level training would be advantageous. A background in Hotel Operations would be preferred, along with great verbal and written communications skills, confidence when public speaking and MS Office skills in Powerpoint/Excel/Word etc. You must also be able to analyze metrics/statistics, prepare action plans and communicate in written reports.
